{"id":107,"date":"2010-10-16T16:37:17","date_gmt":"2010-10-16T13:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.haneda-airport.com\/news\/?p=107"},"modified":"2010-10-16T16:42:15","modified_gmt":"2010-10-16T13:42:15","slug":"tokyos-haneda-airport-gets-its-first-airbus-a380-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.haneda-airport.com\/news\/tokyos-haneda-airport-gets-its-first-airbus-a380-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"Tokyo&#8217;s Haneda Airport gets its first Airbus A380 visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Airbus&#8217; A380 landed Friday for the first time at Tokyo&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haneda-airport.com\">Haneda International Airport<\/a>, the 120th airport to accommodate the super-jumbo jet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m pleased and proud to be in Tokyo-Haneda to welcome the A380 for the first time,&#8221; Rainer Br\u00fcderle, Germanys minister of Economics and Technology, said at the welcome ceremony, according to a news release. &#8220;I look forward to seeing the Airbus flagship aircraft becoming a regular visitor here in Haneda for the decades to come.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The test A380 confirmed the readiness of Haneda&#8217;s new international terminal by performing various airport compatibility checks before flying on to Sapporo&#8217;s New Chitose airport.<\/p>\n<p>Stephane Ginoux, chief executive officer of Airbus Japan, said: &#8220;It is an honor for us to be part of this historical event strengthening the role of Tokyo as a hub in Japan and as a key gateway to Asia.
